News From Spring

Spring is in the air in full San Francisco style, meaning it’s on-and-off freezing and blisteringly hot, paired with strong gusts of ocean-scented wind and plenty of pollen (the latter of which has left this singer with half a voice for a couple days).

… A New Record…
Spring brings plenty of new beginnings, among which include the debut album from Two Star Spark, “Fences.” This long-anticipated record brings new instrumentation in the form of additional guitar tracks never before heard in our live performances, additional keyboards only possible by a drummer-keyboard player with four hands, and bass that pops and carries the songs to a coda of unimaginable strength and emotion. The final (and title) track even includes a guest vocalist, rounding out the sound quite nicely. This will be an album for the ages, a voice of this generation, and a compilation to be reckoned with. You may pick up your copy at a number of venues starting on May 10th, including Amoeba Records, Rasputin, or you can pre-order on our online store. We also hope to eventually add the album to iTunes and Amazon.com. To hold yourself over until the 10th, please feel free to download “Dear Mark” and “Dance Hall” from our music page.

… A CD Release Party…
What album announcement would be complete without a tour to accompany it? But, being a small local band, we have yet to develop a significant fan base outside of the bay area, so our album tour will be strictly confined to one city for an exclusive show. The show will take place on the release date, Sunday, May 10th (a special Mother’s Day indeed), at Kimo’s (1351 Polk St. at Pine, San Francisco). We will be headlining the show, scheduled to start at 9:30, doors opening at 9:00. Our two band friends Parae and The Elevens will kick the night off, and we will close the night down by playing the album live in its entirety, as well as a few other choice numbers. As usual, this show is unfortunately 21+, and comes with a $5 cover charge, but that goes straight to production of the second album. More information:

That is all for today, my dear friends. Apologies if you feel inundated with announcements from us - we only wish to keep you informed, and we will continue to do so. We hope to see you on the 10th, and until then, please keep in touch!

  • About

Two Star Spark is a San Francisco-based rock band. Drawing influence from a wide range of genres, from indie rock to folk, punk to garage rock, electronica to disco, the band captures a unique sound and delights crowds with danceable, up-tempo numbers about love, despair, envy, rage, car crashes, and earthquakes. The band has two distinct sets depending on the live situation: a plugged-in, hard rocking set for bars and clubs, and a mellower acoustic set for restaurants and private parties.
