We – that is, Charlie, Cathy, and Elliot – wish you the happiest of new years, and we hope that 2008 is a good one for you. We also hope to ring in the new year by rocking out at a few of our favorite local venues. The following shows are coming up, and we hope you’ll be there.

Thursday, January 24th at 8:30 pm – Beale Street Bar (133 Beale St., San Francisco, CA). We’re playing with 300 Pounds and Callow. $6.

Friday, January 25th at 9 pm – Coaster’s Bar at the Boardwalk Bowl (115 Cliff St., Santa Cruz, CA). Another with 300 Pounds and Officer Down. Free!

Wednesday, February 27th at 9 pm – Grant and Green Saloon (1371 Grant Ave., San Francisco, CA). We’ll be with Ready Five this time. Free!

Friday, March 7th at 9:30 pm – El Rio (3158 Mission St., San Francisco, CA). CD release party for parae. $5.

We know these are upwards of two months out, but don’t worry. We’ll remind you again when the date gets close, and we’ll probably send you text messages if we have your cell phone number. It’s all about viral marketing right?

In other news, we have a few new songs that we’re working on. If you come to one of these shows, you’ll probably get lucky and hear one. We’re also hitting the studio soon, with the hopes of coming out with a free EP to hand out at shows. Keep an eye here for updates!

Thanks for tuning in, and we hope to see you at a show!

Oh, one more thing – If you want, you can click here, on this link to a flyer, and download our flyer and hand it out to all your friends.

An Exclusive Concert

Two Star Spark is recording a live show, and you are invited to come watch! This exciting event will take place on Tuesday, November 20th, at 10:30 pm (you can come around 10 pm) at Ex’pression College for Digital Arts in Emeryville. The show is free, but in order to get in (it’s at a recording school), you need to be on the guest list, which we need to provide in advance. We will be playing for one hour, and the entire set will be recorded and video taped. This recording will be used to create a demo with which we’ll book gigs… you always wanted to be one of the screaming masses on a live record, right? If you are unable to attend the performance, but would like to watch anyway, it will be webcast live online here:

http://mediasource.expression.edu/liveCast.htm

You’ll need Windows Media Player to view the content, but there is good help on that page if you have trouble. So, once again:

What: Two Star Spark being recorded and filmed live!

When: Tuesday, November 20th at 10:30 pm (that’s when we start playing)

Where: Ex’pression College for Digital Arts (6601 Shellmound Street, Emeryville, CA)

or

Online at: http://mediasource.expression.edu/liveCast.htm

You must be on the guest list to attend, and if you are on the guest list, you must attend. That means no flakes! Also, because it’s at a school (it’s actually in a classroom technically – one that’s more like an auditorium), you have to be well-behaved. You can dance and whatnot, but there will be no bar. I promise it’ll be a good time anyway. So, if you want to come, and you can commit to showing up before 10:30 enough that you don’t walk in on the middle of the set, please email us and let us know! We’d love to have you!

Yes, you read it right. We’ve booked a show at Beale Street Bar with Wave In A Cell and Parae. The show is on Friday, October 19th at 10pm. We play last, which means around 11:45 or 12 probably. It’s $4 to get in, and will be worth every penny. Come early for karaoke!

But wait, there’s more. We’ve also booked another show at Beale Street Bar with Gran Via, Kapowski, and Deep, Saturday, September 15. Show starts at 9:30 or so, and goes late into the evening. $4.

But wait, yes there is still more!! We will be playing with 28 People at Ireland’s 32 on Saturday, September 22. This show is still being planned, so stay tuned for updates!

One Song “Complete!”

After spending a day in the studio, we have successfully laid down drum tracks for three songs: Hurt Me Out, Get Up, and ATL and Brandon. We started working on bass and guitar for Hurt Me Out and ATL and Brandon, and did guitar, bass, and vocals for Get Up. That last one is available for download, and is slightly rough, but will provide our hordes of fans with something to hold them over while we continue the process.

Also, we’re booking shows! If you want to book us or play a show with us, please send an email to booking@twostarspark.com.

Hitting the studio soon!

Hi everyone. I’m happy to announce that this site is coming along. It has a working template with a couple of shoddily made custom images, a blog, and a brief bio of the band. Feel free to comment or whatever.

In real band news (the site is not that exciting really), we are planning on spending the better part of Saturday morning this week in the studio recording a (better) quality demo. We’ll probably do Get Up, Hurt Me Out, and maybe a couple others. This should make it a little easier to sell the band to the clubs and bars in the bay area who won’t book you unless you’re signed. So, wish us luck!

Welcome, under construction

Two Star Spark is a San Francisco-based rock band. Drawing influence from a wide range of genres, from indie rock to folk, punk to garage rock, electronica to disco, the band captures a unique sound and delights crowds with danceable, up-tempo numbers about love, despair, envy, rage, car crashes, and earthquakes. The band has two distinct sets depending on the live situation: a plugged-in, hard rocking set for bars and clubs, and a mellower acoustic set for restaurants and private parties.
